Hello and welcome, my magickal friend!

This meditation is to help you with meeting Demeter, the Greek goddess of agriculture and vegetation. She is a great goddess to call upon during this harvest season.

Establishing the breath

Take a minute to center yourself. Close your eyes and then turn your focus to your breath. Feel the air coming through your nose as you breathe in, and then feel the air rushing over your tongue as you breathe out. Breathe deeply in as your lungs expand, and then all of the way out as your lungs collapse down.

Now steady your breathing into a rhythm, breathing in to a count of 4, and then out to a count of 4. Breathe in, 2, 3, 4, and out, 2, 3, 4. Continue this rhythm as you focus on the air coming in, and then out. Feel your body relax with every breath.

Chakra cleanse

Now turn your focus to your body. Imagine your chakra system glowing like a colorful rainbow in your energy field. Turn your attention to your root chakra in your pelvic region. See this area as a glowing red light. See the energy start to spin as the chakra becomes cleansed of all stagnant or murky energy.

Once this chakra is glowing brightly, then turn your attention to your sacral chakra, in your abdomen just below your navel. This chakra is spinning and glowing a bright orange light. You then feel the energy clear as it spins. Then turn your attention to your solar plexus chakra in your stomach and diaphragm area. This energy is a warm yellow light. The energy starts to spin moving the stuck energy until it’s glowing bright and clear.

Then turn your attention to your heart chakra, glowing green in the center of your chest. The energy starts to swirl and loosen any static energy there. The green becomes brighter until it shines through your chest. Now turn your attention to your throat chakra, where it glows a blue light. See the energy begin to spin and move all of the still, stuck energy. As it spins, it glows brighter until it’s a brilliant blue.

Once this chakra is glowing, then shift your attention to your third eye chakra, between your brows on your forehead. This chakra shines with an indigo glow. It then starts to spin, moving all of the stagnant energy. Then it starts to glow with a radiant light. Finally, turn your attention to your crown chakra at the top of your head. Here you’ll find a violet light that starts to spin and move all of the sluggish energy. It now glows with a dazzling violet light that reaches up to the cosmos.

Connecting to your Divine Inner Self

Now that your chakras have been cleared, turn your attention to your heart center. Go deep into your heart to the place where your inner knowing lies. There you will find your Divine Inner Self.

Take a moment to just take in their presence. What do they look like? What does their energy feel like? How do they communicate with you? Sit and just listen.

Then feel your heart link to their heart. The energy moves back and forth between you until it is a steady beam of light. You feel their love for you fill your heart and you send your love to them.

They now beckon you forward into a shining, shimmering archway. You know beyond lies something wonderful that you have been waiting for, though you didn’t realize it until just now.

Meeting Demeter

Once you step through the archway, you find yourself in a beautiful green meadow, surrounded by flowers and trees. The colors are brilliant and so vibrant that they hardly seem real. The smell of the flowers is intoxicating. All around you hear the sounds of wildlife. It is a magickal scene.

In the distance, you then see a figure walking towards you. You don’t feel afraid, just excited to meet this being. As they get closer, you can make out the form of a tall, full-figured woman. She has a kind face and a gentleness about her.

This woman is now close enough to speak to you. She introduces herself as Demeter, Goddess of agriculture and vegetation. She is here to help you take in your harvest, that which you have sown over the last few months.

Taking in the harvest

Demeter walks with you to a field beyond the meadow. This field contains the fruits of your labors that you had planted in the spring. You see your harvest represented in the fruits, grains, and vegetables within this field. Everything looks ripe and ready to be harvested.

Demeter hands you a woven basket for you to hold your bounty in. You then walk together into the fields to pick the results of your hard work. You feel drawn to certain fruits and vegetables. Each represents something that you have been working on, some goals you wanted to attain.

You see the name of each goal as you pick your rewards and then place it in your basket. Demeter walks with you, lending you her aid and guidance, as your basket becomes full. Once your basket is full, Demeter takes the basket to fill it with her blessings and energy. When she hands it back to you, you feel that energy.

She takes you to a small cottage you didn’t notice to the side of the field. Once you’re inside this cottage, your basket disappears and on the table is a giant feast of all the things you picked. Demeter has made this meal for you, and as you eat from this food, you take in all of the energy she has given you.

Coming back to the breath

Once you have eaten your fill of this bounty, you express your deepest gratitude towards Demeter. She then leads you to the door, which has turned into a portal to take you back to your body. She bids you goodbye and invites you to return whenever you need to harvest your goals.

You say goodbye to Demeter as you walk through the door and then you find yourself back in your body.  Once you feel yourself back in your body, you take a deep breath in, and then exhale out. Take another deep breath in, and then all of the way out.

Reestablish your breath as you feel your body. First, feel your toes, then start to move them around. Then feel your fingers, and start to move them. Move up into the rest of your body, stretching your limbs as you do. Finally, when you feel ready, open your eyes.

Reflection

Take a moment to reorient yourself to the present. Sit and reflect upon your time in Demeter’s realm. What goals did you get to harvest? Are these goals that have already come to fruition, or are they still growing in your life?

Take some time to write down your thoughts about your experience. You can come back to this meditation anytime you need to meet with Demeter or check on your goal harvests.

Until next time, my magickal friend, be well and choose joy. Blessed be!
