In this meditation, we’re going to take a walk with the Goddess through the Wheel of the Year. She is going to show us how to embrace the cycle of life as it relates to nature and to us. This will help us to align better with nature and the natural progression of the year.

Through the cycle of life, the Goddess will show us all of the aspects she goes through each year, and then teaches us to embrace our own cycles.

Establish the breath

Start by closing your eyes and then settle yourself where you rest. Now, let go of any fear or anxiety. Just breathe it out. On the inhale, breathe in good clean air and feel the positive energy flowing into your lungs. Then on the exhale, breathe out any stress or tension in your body.

Keep this rhythm of breathing in and then out, until you feel completely relaxed. There should be no tension in your body. You are now settled deep into the place where you rest and your limbs and head are heavy with contentment.

Finding connection

Now, turn your focus inward. Feel your consciousness sink down into your skin. You then move through the layers and down into the muscles. From there, you immerse yourself in the awareness of your organs that are keeping your body running. Then your consciousness rests with your bones.

From there, you enter the very fibers of your being, into the deep place within yourself that oversees everything you do. From this deep, quiet place, you focus on the beat of your heart. The pulse of the blood running through your veins is soothing and reassuring.

Meeting the Goddess

Then, with each beat of your heart, you feel yourself transported through time and space. You are not afraid, you feel only excitement and anticipation. You come to awareness in a clearing, barren with winter’s chill. While you stand there, looking around, you see a figure walking towards you, and in the pale dawn light, you recognize the Goddess in her divinity.

The Goddess now stands before you as a young maiden, barely in the blush of youth. Her eyes sparkle bright with a child’s innocence. She greets you with a warm hug and a trusting smile. Then, She beckons you to join Her on a walk along a pathway, through the cycle of life.

The Cycle of Life – Spring

The air around you still has the chill of winter, but the rising sun is shining brightly on the snowy ground. All around you see evidence of life poking through the hard earth. There are little shoots of green, and bright purple crocuses, and the sounds of life starting to stir around you.

Then, as you walk along with the Goddess, the scenery changes. The sun gets warmer as it rises in the sky and then the snow starts to melt. You can see buds on the trees growing as the world around you starts to turn green with new life.

The Goddess starts to transform as well. She has now grown into a beautiful young woman, and Her face is alive with curiosity. You see the joy on Her face reflected in the land around you. Birds are singing, bees are buzzing, flowers are blooming, and all around are symbols of love and growth.

As you walk on, the Goddess speaks to you. She talks about her journey and what Her wishes and hopes are for you in this cycle. You listen intently, letting Her words take root in your heart. Then She picks a flower beside the path and hands it to you. Within this flower, you feel all of Her energy of manifesting enter your being. You are filled with Her potential.

The Cycle of Life – Summer

Then you resume your walk along the path and feel the heat of the sun as it is reaching its zenith. All of the trees and flowers are in full bloom and the fruits are starting to grow. The land is full and lush and the air is filled with intoxicating smells.

The Goddess has now entered Her prime and transforms from the blush of youth into a strong, vibrant woman. You then feel a maternal energy emitting from Her, the wisdom and wonder of life growing inside. You understand that all of life has come from inside of this powerful mother Goddess.

Then as you continue to walk with the Goddess, you enjoy the scene all around you. Young animals are playing in the grass, birds are flitting from tree to tree, singing loudly. There is a drone of insects that fills the air, and in the distance is the sound of a stream flowing.

The air around you fills you with ebullience, a joy and cheer that cannot be held in. You laugh and sing with the Goddess as you walk along the path. There is a smile upon your face that cannot be wiped away.

The Cycle of Life – Fall

Then the heat of the sun starts to weigh heavy in the air as the day enters the afternoon. You and the Goddess walk along at a relaxed pace, enjoying the sun’s warmth. Then the conversation turns to the things that are being fulfilled. The Goddess tells you about all of the bountiful harvests She is preparing for you.

You look around at the scene and take in the fullness of the fruit, heavily hanging from the trees, ripe for the picking. Then you notice that the Goddess has transformed again, into a woman of middle years, with an ageless beauty. She reaches up into one of the fruit trees and picks a fruit, and then hands it to you. She tells you this is Her harvest energy just for you. You feel this energy enter your body as you eat the fruit, and know that anything you want to harvest is yours.

In the distance, you see a field of wheat ready to be harvested, swaying in the gentle autumn breeze. Then as you continue your walk with the Goddess, the leaves on the trees start to change colors. While you watch, they change from green to vibrant yellow, then to glowing orange, and finally to a brilliant red before falling to the ground.

The Cycle of Life – Winter

The autumn breeze now starts to carry a chill to it. The sun hangs low on the horizon, painting brilliant colors in the sky. The breeze blows the last remaining leaves off of the trees, leaving them bare.

You then notice that the Goddess has transformed again. She now appears as a wise older woman, with deep wrinkles on Her beautiful face and boundless wisdom in Her eyes. You continue on the path at a slow, steady pace. She talks to you, imparting great knowledge to you, and you listen, enthralled by Her words. These are important truths She is speaking to you.

As the sun sets, a gentle snow begins to fall, turning the world around you into a beautiful blank landscape. You see a sheltered alcove ahead that the Goddess is leading you towards. When you reach the alcove, She then settles herself down on the earth. She now appears to be of great age.

She is imparting the last of Her wisdom to you. Her voice sounds soft and weary. She tells you this is the time of her sleep, when She makes Her greatest transformation through the cycle. You know that She does not wish for you to be sad at Her transformation, but to understand that this is a natural part of the cycle of life.

The Cycle of Life – Transformation

You hold Her hand as She gently lays down Her head upon the earth. Then Her breathing slows until Her chest is barely rising. There is a peace on Her face that brings you comfort. You know that this is a transformation that has to happen.

You sit with Her through the cold, winter night, though you don’t feel the cold yourself. The night is dark and the snow falls down silently. It is a beautiful sight to behold, watching the world become clean and white, like a blank canvas.

It is past midnight now and you feel the Goddess start to change. At first, it is barely perceptible, but then you start to see the years shedding from Her form. Slowly, but surely, as the hours pass by through the night, the Goddess is transforming back into the beautiful young maiden you met when you first started this journey.

Now, you see the sky start to lighten on the horizon. The Goddess’s breathing becomes stronger and steadier. You then see Her start to stir, and then as the sun rises, She opens Her eyes. She smiles when She sees you watching over Her and thanks you. Then She rises and embraces you, then bids you to return to your body, knowing that She has given you the wisdom of the cycle of life.

Returning to the breath

You feel your heart beating in you chest and then you are pulled back through time and space, returning to your body. Your awareness is still deep within your being, but with every breath, you start to rise back to consciousness.

With every inhale, your awareness starts to expand to your surroundings. Then with every exhale, you start to feel the sensations of your body. You start to wiggle your fingers and toes, returning your awareness to your physical form. Then, when you feel ready, you open your eyes with an exhale.

Reflection

Take a minute to sit and reflect on your journey with the Goddess through the cycle of life. What were Her hopes and dreams for you? How did your conversation with Her make you feel? What were the bounties She gave you with the harvest? What wisdom did She impart on you?

Write down all of the experiences you had with the Goddess. You feel Her within you, even now. She will be with you, always. Anytime you need guidance through a cycle, you can call upon Her. She will be there.

Until next time, my magickal friend, be well and choose joy. Blessed be.
